Ball Attachment
Ball attachment dentures, also known as stud attachment dentures, are a type of removable dental prosthesis that use ball-and-socket attachments to secure the dentures in place. The ball attachments are typically made of metal and are embedded in the dentures, while the socket attachments are fitted into the patient’s mouth, usually on the roof of the mouth or on the lower jaw. The ball attachments on the dentures fit securely into the sockets, allowing the dentures to stay in place while the patient eats, speaks, or performs other daily activities. Stud attachment dentures offer a more secure fit than traditional removable dentures, which are held in place by suction or a small amount of denture adhesive.
