Yurdanur Uçar is a graduate of Ankara University, Faculty of Dentistry where she received her DDS degree in 1999. She holds MS degree in Dental Materials (earned in 2005) and PhD degree in Oral Biology (earned in 2007) both received from Graduate School of The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, USA. She graduated with PhD in Prosthodontics offered by Institute of Medical Sciences at Cukurova University in 2007. She was assigned to assistant professor position in 2008, associate professor position in 2012 and full professor position in 2019.

She served as Vice Dean for Educational Affairs and Department Head of Prosthodontics in her Dental College, board member of Institute of Medical Sciences, and board member of Biotechnology Center. She served as an adjunct faculty in Department of Biotechnology. She was the Department Head and adjunct faculty in Department of Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology.

She served as a board member of Ankara Section of Turkish Association of Prosthodontics and Implantology (TPID). She served as the President of Implant Research Group (IRG) branched under International Association for Dental Research (IADR) and is a fellow and speaker of The International Team for Implantology (ITI). She was a Board Member of CAD Academy (CADA) responsible for educational affairs.

Dr. Ucar is intensely involved in scientific research regarding dental materials, dental implantology, biomaterials, biomechanics, computer aided contemporary manufacturing methods and layered manufacturing applications in bone tissue engineering.

She supervised and completed 5 PhD dissertations and 2 speciality dissertations all received in Prosthodontics. She also supervised two MS thesis of international students enrolled in Biotechnology Program.

She is founder and CEO of a start-up company called BioFuture located in Çukurova Teknokent, Adana. The company was founded in March 2019 with the purpose of conducting research and development on hard tissue engineering using 3D bioprinters. She keeps sharing her professional knowledge and experience by giving lectures in national and international meetings. She translated a number of chapters and has book chapters. She currently works in privately owned Dental Clinic called MOTTO located in Antalya.
